Pot odds

By:

The amount in the pot compared by the amount you must call in order to stay in the hand. For example: If an opponent bets $10 and the pot is $40, then you must call $10 and the amount in the pot is $40+$10= $50. So, $50 : $10 = 5 : 1 pot odds.
The pot odds are very useful and are considered one of the basic strategic concepts of poker.
